In collaboration with New Routes, Old Roots (ARU) and WOW Norwich, True Stories Live ran a series of fantastic workshops for female story-tellers at New Routes integration project in Norwich. Under the expert guidance of Molly Naylor and Lucy Farrant (workshop leaders), the story-tellers took part in a variety of story-telling games and collaborative activities that encouraged them to think about the structure, pacing and deliveries of stories. At the end of each session, the story-tellers performed their tales (some fictional, some real-life) to each other and invited members from New Routes integration project.
As part of the ‘Story Circles’ project, each workshop aimed to help the story-tellers to:
• develop their oral and written communication skills in English
• learn new story-telling techniques and practices
• develop team-workings skills
• gain confidence to publish or perform their stories to wider audiences
The workshops were such a huge success that some of the story-tellers are planning to take part in the brilliant Trues Stories Live evenings at Norwich Arts Centre.

‘Story Circles’ is led by Dr Jeannette Baxter in association with Norwich-based writers and story-tellers.
