New Routes, Old Roots

As part of the Cambridge Festival of Ideas, TRANSATLANTIC: THEY SAY! WE SAY!, brought together young writers from Cambridge UK and the ground-breaking Iconoclast Project in Houston Texas in a live poetry reading performance linked via the world wide web. It was a powerful evening of shared similarities and differences, hopes and dreams from students of high schools and universities in both locations. Schools represented in Cambridge were: Anglia Ruskin University, and Cambridge University. Schools represented in Houston Texas were:

Iconoclast aims to create new friendships and understanding across the often brutal divisions of class, culture and ethnicity through poetry writing and performance. While New Routes, Old Roots presents scholarly research and reflection on the experience of exile and migration.
