On 8 June 2016, Prof Lissa Paul of Brock University, Ontario, made a special presentation entitled From There to Here:Journeys of Eliza Fenwick (1766-1840), on her researches into the author, pioneering educator, and close friend of Mary Wollstonecraft and William Godwin. She was also a migrant whose contributions to the cultures of her ‘adopted’ homes, Canada, America and Barbados, have been unjustly overlooked.
As part of Prof Paul’s visit, she very kindly agreed to an interview with New Routes, Old Roots co-directors Dr Jeannette Baxter and Dr Mick Gowar. Here is the video from that interview, where in part, she discusses her own doctoral journey being mentored by poet Ted Hughes.
